Activities
The experience of most of the members working in the Office in its new form is between 20 to 40 years in various engineering fields such as water studies, construction studies, automation, informatics, water insulation, hydrogeology, chemistry, environment and topography, as well as the translation of technical documents.
Most of the office activities concentrated on the following:
- Design of water supply facilities (reservoirs – distribution networks and gauges).
- Study of purification plants, sterilization and reverse osmosis treatment and its equipment.
- Rehabilitation of health facilities (hospitals and clinics).
- Equipping of wells and pumping stations.
- Equipping water installations with stand-by power (generating sets – solar energy).
- Study of sewage networks.
- Assessment of damages to the public facilities and private water installations, and the development of an emergency intervention and operational plan.
- Rehabilitation of water transport facilities as tunnels, pipelines, tanks and pumping stations.
- Study of reducing water losses in the water supply system.
Civil Engineering Experiences
Through the long march of the Office in the engineering work specialized in the study and supervision of the implementation of projects, it has carried out several projects, the most prominent are:
1. The implementation of the cattle shelters facilities in the village of Jab Ramla in Ghab Valley, Hama 1964.
2. Study and supervision of execution of the amianthus cement factory in Dummar, Damascus, 1966.
3. Study and supervision of execution of facilities for the protection of fuel tanks in the cement factory in Dummar, Damascus, 1968.
4. Study and supervision of execution of the Labor Complex Buildings of Damascus Labor Union 1972.
5. Study and supervision of execution of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Palace (United Arab Emirate President) in Zabadani Damascus countryside, 1976.
6. Contribution through working with Damascus Water Supply Authority and the French company SOGREAH in the supervision of execution of the tunnel project for withdrawing water to Damascus in 1977.
7. Study and supervision of execution of the Saad bin Moaz mosque building in Damascus, 1981.
8. Contribution through working with Damascus Water Authority and the US Company Gilbert Commonwealth in the works of supervising the execution of the project of replacement the old network (General Phase), 1984.
9. The structural study of the twin tower type building No 221, height of 12 floors in Kafar Sousse ward, Damascus 1990.
10. Contribution through working with the Damascus Water Authority in the study and supervision of the implementation of the project of drawing water from Barada Spring to Damascus, 1993.
11. The structural study of the tower building of Sheikh Badr al-Din al-Hassani School in Damascus, 1995.
12. Study and supervision of execution of Rahmeh Mosque in Barza, Damascus 1997.
13. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority and JICA and the Japanese consultant NIPPON KOIE in the study work of the Damascus Water Master Plan 1998.
14. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority and JICA and the Japanese consultant NIPPON KOIE in the study of a plan to reduce leakage and replacement of the old pipelines in Damascus, 2002.
15. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with the Damascus Water Authority and the Arab Economic Development Fund in Kuwait and the German consultant LAHMEYER International in the study of the rehabilitation and expansion of the water supply system of Damascus and its surroundings, 2003.
16. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with the Damascus Water Authority and the Dutch-Swiss consultant IBG & DHV in the study of drawing water surplus from Tartous in the Syrian coast to Damascus, 2004.
17. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority and JICA and Japanese consultant SANYU in the study of the new water source project in Jadidat Yabous in the Damascus countryside, 2006.
18. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with the Damascus Water Authority and JICA and the Japanese consultant NIPPON KOIE in the study and supervision of the implementation of the rehabilitation of the water transmission tunnels to Damascus, 2007.
19. Execution study of the drinking water network for the Diplomatic Neighborhood in the Dimas Valley, Damascus countryside, 2008.
20. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority, by the revision of the design of the main sewer collector of BARADA valley in Damascus countryside to protect FIGEH spring from pollution, 2008.
21. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority, KFW and the French-German and local consultants BURGEAP,MVV,GCEC and ELARD in the work of the feasibility study on protection of Figeh Spring from pollution in Damascus countryside, 2009.
22. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority and KFW and the German CES consulting engineer Salzgitter GmbH in the study of Yarmouk Wastewater Treatment Plant in Damascus Countryside, 2009.
23. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority and EIB and the English-German consultant Dornier WYG in the study work for the project of Rural Damascus Water and Sanitation 2009.
24. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority and RENEXUS – WEIDA Malaysian consultant through the provision of technical support during the commissioning of three RO units executed in AL GOUTA of the Rural Damascus on 2010.
25. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with the Damascus Water Authority and the German Federal Institute for Geo Sciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in the study of protection of Figeh Spring system in Damascus countryside, 2011.
26. Contribution through working (as deputy general director & director of studies and design) with Damascus Water Authority to develop a plan to meet the emergency conditions, 2013.
27. Execution study and tender documents preparation and supervision of execution of increase the supply of safe drinking water to low income areas on the outskirts of the city Damascus from Zabadani Valley with the support of WHO in the Damascus Countryside, 2014.
28. Execution study and tender documents preparation and supervision of execution of the project of supply of safe drinking water to IDP population at ALRYADA shelter from unexploited ground water sources in Aleppo City with the support of WHO, 2015.
29. Execution study and tender documents and supervising engineer TOR of the project of the rehabilitation of TALKALAKH medical center with the support of WHO, in HOMS governorate 2015.
30. Execution study and tender documents preparation and supervision of execution of the project of increasing the water sources of Mawasat Charity Hospital, Assad University Hospital, Ibn al-Nafis Hospital and Ibn Rushd Hospital with the support of WHO, Damascus 2015.
31. Execution study and tender documents preparation and supervision of execution of the project of drilling and investment of additional water source from the wells in Deir Al ZORR city and provide with solar energy supply with the support of UNICEF-SARC in Deir-Al-ZORR City, 2016.
32. Checking the executive studies and design prepared by DAWSSA and supervising the implementation of the project of rehabilitation of the Figeh Spring, the main source for Damascus drinking water supply with the support of UNICEF-ICRC-NRC-SARC, 2017.
33. Execution study and supervision of execution of a large number of water emergency projects supported by SARC and Partners NGOs in many needy Syrian governments: Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Raqqa, Hasaka, Deir-al-Zor, Daraa, Quneitra, Idlib, Lattakia, Tartous, Sweida, Damascus and Damascus countryside, 2017.
34. Execution study and detailed design and tender documents preparation for the rehabilitation facilities of the Sakhour medical complex for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in Aleppo, 2017.
